Come for a day along the rocky shore where you can kayak and snorkel or simply soak up the sun. There's a great snack bar onsite in case you get hungry. Fort Zach also offers scenic nature trails and, of course, the Civil War era fort the park is named for.

At the foot of the Seven Mile Bridge, you'll encounter Bahia Honda State Park, a paradisiacal lagoon beach that feels like something out of a dream. Remnants of the Old Bahia Bridge jut out from the tip of the key where you can take a stroll for outrageously scenic views of the water and the marine life below. Look closely and you might even spot a shark or a sea turtle through the water's surface. Post up beneath a palm tree at the beach or take a kayak for a spin through the crystal clear waters.

The Seven Mile Bridge is the most epic bridge on the drive along the Overseas Highway. Connecting Little Duck Key in the Lower Keys to Marathon's Knight Key, the bridge, as the name implies, spans seven miles across Moser Channel. It's an experience akin to walking on water as the scenic views unfold from every direction. The bridge is so captivating, it's been famously featured in scenes from True Lies, License to Kill, Mission Impossible III and 2 Fast 2 Furious.

As you drive across the Seven Mile Bridge, you'll notice another structure running parallel to it. This is the remnant of the Overseas Railroad, which was originally constructed between 1908 and 1912 by oil tycoon and developer Henry Flagler. You'll also notice a tiny island standing alone beneath a trestle of this original bridge. It's the five-acre island of Pigeon Key, accessible by ferry from the Pigeon Key Gift Shop at Mile Marker 47 near the Seven Mile Bridge. This National Register of Historic Places landmark is a window through history of the Florida Keys and offers incredibly scenic views that many visitors simply pass by.
